The Summer Peace University 2025 has received the official patronage of the European Parliament Office in Italy, a recognition that brings further prestige to our academic journey and strengthens the bond with European institutions. This support is not merely a formal act but a concrete sign of the international relevance of the SPU, which aims to serve as a space for academic and civic dialogue on the global challenges of our time.

The European Parliament plays a central role in shaping the Union’s policies on human rights, ecological transition, technological innovation, and international cooperation. Its decisions have a direct impact on the lives of citizens and on Europe’s ability to position itself as a global actor in promoting peace, democracy, and sustainability.

The patronage fits fully within the spirit of the SPU, which this year will address themes such as sovereignty and conflicts, climate change and global justice, migration, diplomacy and peacebuilding, sustainable economy, and new technologies. In each of these areas, the European experience and the work of the European Parliament will serve as a fundamental reference point for students and lecturers, providing concrete examples of multi-level governance and dialogue among institutions, civil society, and the academic community.

Thanks to this support, the Summer Peace University confirms itself not only as an initiative with an international scope, but also as an integral part of a broader European process of education for active citizenship and cooperation among peoples.
