Peace Labs: The Operational heart of SPU
Peace Labs are the operational core of the Summer Peace University methodology , the place where knowledge translates into action and theory becomes an exercise in applied diplomacy.
They represent laboratories of cooperation and mediation, in which students face real-world crisis and transformation scenarios, practicing their skills in geopolitical analysis, multilateral negotiation, and shared solution planning.
Each Peace Lab is coordinated by a professor from the partner universities and an international expert from organizations or research centers, and is developed according to a progressive methodology that integrates three levels:

Analysis , through case studies and understanding the dynamics of power and conflict;

Simulation , through negotiation and cooperative resolution exercises;

Planning , with the collective production of strategies and operational proposals.
The main thematic areas of Peace Lab 2026 include:
Conflicts and International Security
Analysis of regional tensions and new multipolar balances, with particular attention to the Mediterranean and border areas.
Sustainable Economy and Climate Diplomacy
Technological Innovation and Ethical Governance
Intercultural Dialogue and Reconciliation
Development Policies and Decentralized Cooperation
Designing micro-local projects for inclusion, sustainability, and local diplomacy.
Each Peace Lab culminates in the drafting of a Peace Memo , a summary document that collects analyses, visions and operational proposals to be presented in the weekly Public Forums and in the SPU White Paper , intended for European and international institutions.
Through this methodology, academic education is transformed into an exercise in global citizenship: scientific dialogue evolves into political proposals, and theoretical reflection becomes a concrete instrument of cooperation and peace.
