Learning by Living – The SPU Pedagogical Model
The SPU Methodology is based on the principle of Learning by Living, which integrates academic excellence, experiential practice, and intercultural coexistence. It redefines education as a process of participation and co-creation rather than transmission.
SDG Alignment in Practice
SDG alignment at SPU is not symbolic. Each week highlights a defined SDG cluster; Peace Labs generate weekly Peace Memos connecting lessons to selected SDG targets; the annual White Paper consolidates recommendations designed for institutional uptake; and each Local Peace Project (LPP) identifies a primary SDG, supporting targets, and minimal evidence of impact.
SPU’s pedagogical model is structured around four interconnected dimensions:
This integrated approach transforms the SPU into a dynamic learning ecosystem.
Classrooms, laboratories, and social activities are part of one continuous process in which intellectual growth, ethical reflection, and social responsibility reinforce each other.
The methodology’s strength lies in its capacity to generate collaboration rather than competition, cultivating leaders who think critically, act ethically, and work collectively.
